Description

One mystery die every day, at a budget cost

QMAY keeps the idea simple. There are 24 compartments, and each holds a single surprise. Twenty-one of them are acrylic dice in random styles, one is a pin badge, one is a metal D20 and one is a sharp-edged resin D20. It is the cleanest version of the daily reveal in this comparison: nothing to assemble or unfold, just a new die to roll each morning.

A collector's pool, not matched sets

QMAY says the line covers more than 100 possible dice styles, with different colors, patterns and finishes. The trade-off is that your 21 acrylic dice arrive as individual random pieces, not seven-die sets in one look. That is perfect for a self-described dice goblin who loves variety, or for a DM who wants a bowl of loose dice to hand out. It is less ideal for a new player who needs one consistent set for a character sheet.

The two special D20s

The metal D20 and the sharp-edged resin D20 are the highlights. Sharp-edge dice have crisp, unrounded corners that many collectors prize, and a weighty metal D20 is the die people grab for a critical attack. Having both in a low-cost calendar gives the countdown two clear high points instead of 24 similar days.

Build and readability

According to QMAY, the dice resist chipping and wear and carry readable numbers. The listing positions them for D&D, MTG, Warhammer, Pathfinder and other games, and loose dice do travel well between systems. QMAY also suggests using the 24 compartments to count down to any milestone, such as an anniversary, not just Christmas.

What is inside

  • 24 compartments, one surprise per day
  • 21 acrylic dice in random styles
  • 1 metal D20
  • 1 sharp-edged resin D20
  • 1 pin badge

Where it falls short

There is no bag, tray or storage included, so the dice will need a home once the calendar is empty. A small drawstring pouch fixes that quickly. It ranks fourth because it delivers less usable gear than the kits above it, but it shares the lowest cost in this group with one other calendar, which makes it the easiest to justify as an extra gift.

Who it is for

Choose the QMAY as a stocking stuffer, a secret Santa present, a party favor or a treat for someone who already owns dice and simply loves opening new ones. It also works as a loot pool: a DM can hand out one die per session as a reward for clever play, which stretches the fun well past December.
