Description

Turn order your players can see from across the table

Most initiative trackers hide behind the Dungeon Master's screen. This one from CZYY does the opposite. It is a laser-cut acrylic sword standing upright in a resin stone, inspired by the legend of King Arthur, and it holds the combat order where every player can read it. When the fighter sees their flag coming up next, they start planning before their name is called.

How it works

The sword has 12 slots arranged in two columns. You write each character or monster name on one of the 12 included blank flags, hang the flags in initiative order, and flip each one to the other side once that creature has acted. When every flag is flipped, the round is over and you flip them back. The flags take wet erase or dry erase markers, so you can wipe them and reuse them for the next encounter.

  • 12 blank, erasable flags included
  • 12 hanging slots in two columns
  • Works with wet or dry erase markers
  • Resin stone base of 4.1 x 3.1 x 1.6 inches
  • Acrylic sword approximately 13 inches tall

A tracker that sets the mood

The appeal here is as much visual as functional. A colored acrylic blade rising out of a stone base looks like a prop from the adventure itself, and it fits medieval and Arthurian campaigns especially well. You can leave it out as scenery between fights, then load it with flags when combat starts.

Size and placement

The base footprint is compact at 4.1 by 3.1 inches, but the sword reaches about 13 inches, so place it where it will not block sightlines to the battle map or the Dungeon Master. A corner of the table or the top edge of the play area usually works. Because it stands on its own, it does not need a screen to hang from, which helps groups who run without one.

Limits to consider

Twelve flags cover a typical party plus a handful of enemies. For a large battle, group identical monsters on one flag. The piece is also less portable than a set of clip-on markers, so it suits a home table better than a travel kit. It is sold by a third-party merchant rather than Amazon directly, so check the listing details before ordering.

Why it ranks seventh

Compared with the trackers above it, this one offers less flexibility for big fights and takes more room. It earns its place by being the most visible and decorative option in the lineup, a real upgrade in atmosphere.

Who it is for

It suits Dungeon Masters who want a showpiece on the table, groups where players often lose track of their turn, and anyone shopping for a memorable gift for a DM.
